From the above lines, the song writer tries to paint a particular picture about giving, and what it should be like. It is not dependent on what you have or what you don't have. Neither is it dependent on how big or how small it is, but the state and condition of the heart at which it is given.

And no matter the level you find yourself in life, there's still something in your hand. It is your responsibility to identify or discover what it is that is in your hand. It could be big or small. It could be something that is valuable that could foster some kind of exchange. It could be a gift or a talent. It could be a skill. It could be a technical knowhow. It could be a smile or an excellent communication skill...

May be you are living large(big), and you have some connections in high places. It could be contracts. It could be some sort of endorsement... No one is exempted from giving. It is a principle of life! In giving, the poor and the rich meet together, and anything can happen at such gathering. The rich may become poor, and the poor may become rich. It's about the attitude to life.
