No Unction No Function

An unction is an excessive but superficial compliments given with affected charm. It is a superficial compliment in the sense that it is concerned with what is apparent or obvious, and the fact that it is given with affected charm makes it more impressive. To function on the other hand is to serve a purpose, role, or obligation... It simply means to be relevant where it matters most.

For anything to function, there must be some drives, tools, boosters..., that propels it into action. Where these pillars, backbones... are missen in action, functionality becomes impaired. No one is an island! Anything you see functioning today, has a source or a backbone. Sometimes it appears to stand alone but in the real sense, something is holding or propelling it forward. The word lonely is only active when the mind accepts it. But a mind that is programmed to function knows nothing as such because it has something that always keeps it busy.

The brain normally is not programmed to be idle but functional. Where it is idle, it tends to look for ways to fill itself up. This is where the mind could accept different suggestions or thought patterns that appeals to it not minding if it is negative or not. It is best to never come to the point where external factors, situations, happenings and what have you, becomes the pace setter. The outcome is not something to reckon with.

One of the ways to be functional or function optimally is to know your limits, capabilities... as well as your circle of influence. If I must be a source of influence or a strong influence in a place, wherever I find myself, and in whatever I set out to do, it means that my opinion should count in any decision making. I mean not just counting alone, it must be treated with care and respect. Otherwise, it leaves me with no choice than to look for where my opinion is acknowledged and respected. That is to say that I shouldn't be there in the first place. Simply put, there's no need to be in a place where you are not considered relevant, as you would only be tolerated and not celebrated.

Never underestimate the power of unction because it provides, generates or produces the oil or lubricant that enables one to function. And looking at it letter wise, the word "Function" cannot be complete without the word "Unction". Take away the word "unction from function" and the answer would be "f" standing on its own. And you would quite agree with me that "f" on its own doesn't make sense unless a word is attached to it. That is the way "Function" appears when "Unction" is not there. I have the will power to decide how it turns out for me in the midst of so many activities and happenings. In other words, your resolve determines your results. Resolve for the best...
