Work is an activity directed towards exerting oneself by doing something mental or physical for a purpose or out of necessity. It is anything that someone is actively engaged in to receive some sort of payments in form of rewards, remuneration (wages), interest, profits... No work is less than the other. It depends on how you see it. The major question should be: do I enjoy the work..., I am doing? If not, even if it pays well or the benefits are mind blowing (catchy, appealing...), it would still have some question mark (?).
Conduct on the other hand is the manner of acting or controlling oneself. It is also the way of administering a business and what have you in such a way that it yields the desired results or returns. In simple terms, it means to direct the course of a thing, manage or control it.
Most of the time, especially nowadays, people don't really care about whether they enjoy what they do, as long as it pays well. Off course, you wouldn't blame them that much. What do you expect? When there are lots of bills to take care of, with each one calling for attention. As if that is not enough, you still have pressures from family members, as well as pressing responsibilities to cater for, both present and in the future. You haven't even mentioned yourself and the list are piling up, and you are wondering how do I meet up with my responsibilities considering the limited resources available to me?
All of the above are facts pointing to the need for a well paid work, business..., yet it still cannot replace the question I need to ask myself, which says: do I really enjoy the work I do?
One basic truth to note is that expenses will never end. There would always be one bill or the other to take care of, and the circle goes round and round. The implication of this is that: if you don't enjoy the work you do, it saps you up gradually, run your energy out, distort productivity, giving one reasons to always complain, weakens enthusiasm... Soon, one begin to get tired of the work, and invariably start searching for another. And if the another doesn't come, the person gets stuck there, no drive, no vibe, no improvement..., but just working to take care of bills.
The case is different if you enjoy what you do. Even if it doesn't pay well at the moment, there is this inner peace, warmth, enthusiasm and zest to do better. You want to manage what you have effectively as you look out for something bigger and better. There is this faith that makes you know that you are moving from glory to glory. This enables you to live within your means as you press on for greater heights. And because you enjoy what you do, it flows with less health problems and other issues associated to not enjoying what you do.
By the way, you would quite agree with me that we don't survive mainly by what we earn alone, because it would never be enough. At least, this one, I know for sure. Don't get it twisted! It is worthwhile to have a well paid job. However, it is more profitable to enjoy the work you do. #Exertion #Physical #Mental #Actively engaged #Payment #Administering #Managing #Control #Work conduct.
