Curiosity is a state in which you want to learn more, even deeper about something. It is a state of mind that transcends the norm far beyond the usual or expected. It's like a longing or yearning that makes you want to research, seek for knowledge, find solution or answers to a thing including that open door you earnestly needed.
Curiosity is different from anxiety. While curiosity is a positive feeling or state that makes you want to alter the course of event or learn deeper about something so as to profer solution, anxiety is a relatively permanent state of worry and nervousness occurring in a variety of mental disorders, usually followed by compulsive behavior or attacks of panic. The two are no perfect match as both differs from each other in diverse ways. So if one of these is not operational, then there's a tendency that the other has gotten hold of such person(s). Instead of me to be anxious, I'd rather prefer to be curious, at least that would make me want to find answers or even lead me to where I can find solution.
Curiosity is a motivator on its own. Remember, a motivator is anything that arouse or move you into action. So, if the word curiosity can make you want to stretch your learning horizons, and not just the mere learning itself, then, suffice it to say that curiosity is one of your motivators.
What are we really curious about? It is pertinent to know and be able to state in clear terms what one is curious about so as to determine the drive as well as the destination. You would know the direction you are heading to by what you are curious about. And as you discover who you truly are, you would be less concerned by petty issues. I am curious (lols). Really? But come to think of it, in this life, and in your endeavours, if you are not curious about finding solutions or even searching for that miracle(open door), or working toward a set goal, looking ahead, or seeing beyond the present situation or circumstance, you may as well need to deal with petty issues.
Furthermore, if you are not curious about anything, signs are that you are satisfied where you are. And what makes you satisfied with where you are, your position, achievements..., is termed complacency.
Complacency is the opposite of curiosity. Somtimes, after a major victory or achievement, we tend to relax and slow down a bit. Well, this is natural. We are all guilty of this act. However, staying longer than necessary is where the problem lies. So, it is wise to know where to draw the line between curiosity and complacency. Once you notice you are attached to a particular thing, environment, achievement..., such that it kind of make you so relaxed and satisfied with yourself, then it is time to add curiosity to it. Being curious doesn't take anything away from you but only help in making you better. #Anxiety #Worry #Complacency #Self-satisfaction #Curiosity #Motivator.
