What if that person doesn't make much sense at all, does his/her rights still needs to be respected? What if we don't like the person's face, do we still need to respect the person's rights? What if the person's right is not favourable to us, does it still need to be respected? What if the person is not as educated or sophisticated as we are, do we still respect such people's rights? What if these set of people are the weak ones among us, who don't have people to speak for them, should their rights still be respected? What if I decide to do my thing my own way, the way I feel it should be done, not minding if others like it or not, should it still be respected? What if my lifestyle and thought pattern is way far different from the other person's own, does it still need to be respected? What if you choose a road map for yourself that you want to follow, and certain persons seem not to approve of it, does it still need to be respected? What if I have limited time to respond to certain events in my life, and the time frame does not tally with that of others, does my rights still need to be respected? What if I don't meet up with certain requirements others expects of me, does my rights still need to be respected? It could just be that I like doing things my way away from the crowd, does my rights still need to be respected? What if my body system requires me to take a rest when others expect me to be up and doing, does my rights still need to be respected? What if you don't show up due to circumstance beyond your control, do you still have rights to be protected?
Each of us has rights to do what we please, restricted by the rights of others. Rights are not there to make you ungovernable, but the rights are there to protect your interest. These rights are also there to serve as check and balances. This is because some persons who feel they have arrived, may tend to be manipulative, thereby treating others as if they don't count in the human race. Off course, you count! It doesn't matter the state or status you find yourself, nobody has the right to treat you like trash or use you at will when you realise you have rights that needs to be respected, especially rights of choice. Yes! You have rights!!
Respecting people's rights doesn't mean you are weak or not firm. Instead it shows that you are wise, knowledgeable, and learned. It also shows that you understand and appreciate the fact that humans are different in so many ways. In fact, even if it is someone who is not learned in quote but understands rights, and how to deal with people's rights, such person (s) is counted among the learned unlike the person who claim to be learned but doesn't understand jack about human rights. The difference is clear!
Here is the high points of the matter! Be original. Be rational. Uphold the right virtues. Live your life the best way you can. Respect people's rights because that is the only way you can appreciate people's differences. #Respect #People #Rights #Interest #Check and balances #Wise #Knowledgeable #Learned.
